The Nehru Memorial College of Education celebrated Pongal'2019 to show gratitude towards farmers and cattle. President Er.Pon.Balasubramanian, Principal of NMC Dr.A.R.PonPeriasamy, members of faculty and student teachers participated. Dean Dr.A.Prabaharan while welcoming the gathering said that festivals like Pongal unites the people. V.Priyadarshini, Padma, Preetha, A.Yazhini and Senthamilselvi coordinated the event.
Sports, fun events like lemon in spoon, muruku biting, ballon blowing, candle lighting, songs, dances added colour to the Pongal.
Student teachers cooked traditionally in a well decorated mud pot with sugarcane, tamarind, banana leafs etc
